Dec. 6, 2011 -The NorMac Centre has a cell phone booster! You can now send and receive calls in most parts of the rink! Thanks to Melissa, Rhett, Delaney, & Len Boschman for the receiver. More thanks to Brent Zander, Shawn Klippenstein, & Jason McKelvy for installing it!

OPEN MEETING!

Nov. 9, 2011 -There will be an open rink meeting on Monday November 21 at 6:30 at the rink. We are looking for a president and other eager people to sit on the board. We would like to get more input from community members and would appreciate some new people with new ideas to help out this small volunteer board. Meeting will take place in the green room.

GO TIME!
November 1, 2011 -The Chief Ice Maker has just informed me that the hockey ice will be ready for skating on Thursday, November 3! The curling ice is underway too.

SLOW, BUT STEADY!
October 31, 2001 - Rumour has it that the ice making is going well. The ice will be painted tomorrow. There is still no official word on when the ice will be "skate-able." Thanks to the many volunteers who are donating their valuable time to make the ice and fix up the rink!

CAUTIOUS GOOD NEWS!
October 27, 2011 - Fingers crossed...the plant was "fired up" today, so ice production is underway! Yay! Barring any further disasters, we should have ice relatively soon...maybe by November 4. Check back for more info! Thanks to the Predator hockey team for replacing the puck board! Volunteers make the NorMac Centre go 'round!

NEW CONDENSER = ICE DELAY
Oct. 23, 2011 - Thanks to the Manitoba Community Places grant, the NorMac Centre will be home to a new condenser. Unfortunately, this means our ice production will be delayed. Check back for more details as they become available.

WASN’T THAT A PARTY!

On Saturday, August 27, 2011, the population of our local spray park exceeded that of the entire town of MacGregor! The Kraft Celebration Tour was a HUGE success! Fortunately, Mother Nature provided us with a bright sunny day. People from all over Southern Manitoba enjoyed the free BBQ; the Kid's Fun Zone; and the free Kraft food samples.

Former Winnipeg Blue Bomber, Troy Westwood, was on hand to sign autographs, as well as brand new Winnipeg Jet, Bryan Little! The Go Jets Go! chant was deafening! The highlight of the afternoon was the live taping of TSN's SportsCentre  by Jay Onrait & Dan O'Toole. Who will forget Jay and Dan running through a sea of people to cool off in the spray park? Thank you everyone who helped make this event happen!
